On August 9th, Apple released the fifth beta of iOS 16 to developers for testing purposes, which brings some new small details, let’s take a deep dive into the new features in iOS 16 Beta 5!
Battery Percentage
In the latest iOS 16 Beta 5 version, users can reach the function page through “Settings – Battery” and choose whether to enable “Battery Percentage”. After the button is opened, the battery percentage number will be displayed in the battery icon in the upper right corner of the iPhone’s main interface.
The battery percentage feature is apparently not available on the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 13 mini, according to 9to5Mac.
New Find My Sound
iPhone plays a new sound alert when using the “Play Sound” option in the Find My app. When users swipe up on their Apple Watch to enter Control Center, they will also hear the new sound if they tap the iPhone icon to locate their iPhone device.
Screenshots
After taking a screenshot, you can select “Copy and Delete”, so that you can directly share the picture without saving it to the desktop.
Remove Siri Voice Shutdown
In the iOS 16 Beta 5 update, Apple canceled the iPhone Siri voice shutdown function, which has become a traditional reminder. You need to hold down the physical button and drag the on-screen slider.
Lock Screen Now Playing Visualizer
Beta 5 introduces a mini visualizer that appears in the top right corner of the music widget. But what’s even more exciting is that the visualizer matches the music being played, rather than just including a stalled icon.
Additionally, new animations have been added that appear whenever you press the play/pause, forward, and reverse playback controls within the widget. Another new feature is the ability to hide full-screen album artwork by simply tapping the image on the lock screen. Album artwork shrinks into the Now Playing widget, and you can restore it by simply clicking on the artwork in the widget.
Remove Perspective Zoom
The perspective zoom feature for lock screen wallpapers has been removed. The switch to disable it has also been removed.
