At WWDC 2022 this year, Apple unveiled its next round of operating systems: iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, and watchOS 9. The updates are chock full of new features. The new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro have been released. Check out all the latest news from WWDC 2022 below.
1. iOS 16
iOS 16 brings a brand new lock screen, users can customize and edit the lock screen interface to change the color, background, time, and font, they also can add different components, including weather, calendar, etc. Notifications have also been adjusted and updated.
iMessage has been updated with the ability to edit messages just sent, recall messages, and mark unread.
Dictation, Wallet, Maps, and iCloud Shared Gallery have also received new upgrades. Apple also launched Apple Pay Later, which offers installment services at no additional cost.
2. WatchOS 9
WatchOS 9 updates four new watch faces and introduces a redesigned Siri UI and new banner notifications. Apple has added a number of new health-tracking features such as new running metrics, atrial fibrillation tracking, and medication reminders.
3. MacBook Air
The new MacBook Air with a notch screen equipped with an M2 chip was released. The M2 adopts an 8-core design and is built with a 5nm process technology, which can bring dual improvements in energy efficiency and performance.
The MacBook Air comes in four colorways: Silver, Space Gray, Starlight, and Midnight. The 13.6-inch notch screen is 20% smaller than the previous generation Air, the body thickness is 11.3mm, and the MagSafe charging port is back, starting at $1,099.
4. MacBook Pro
The 13-inch MacBook Pro chip is also upgraded to M2. It comes with up to 24GB of RAM, up to 2TB of storage, and up to 20 hours of battery life, starting at $1,199.
5. macOS 13
macOS Ventura’s many built-in applications support multi-person sharing operations, front-end scheduling, and adding weather and clock apps. The Safari browser adds access keys, and the Mac supports the use of the iPhone camera. The settings page UI has also been overhauled.
6. iPadOS 16
iPadOS 16 introduces a new collaboration feature, allowing users to collaborate and modify memos, documents, and documents in messaging apps, FaceTime, etc., and the weather app has been added for the first time.
